Announcements

 

We had scheduled Blessed Assurance to bring a presentation to The G.E.M. Group on Self Defense & Weapons,  Due to an unforsee circumstances, she had to canceled at the last minute.

However, in her place our member JR Dinar stepped up to the plate  & gave us a wonderful lesson in Self Defense!

JR Dinar is an officer of the law who serves the Virginia area.  He is married with 2 daughters & 1 son

He states if you are going to carry a firearm, please make sure you get proper training.  Take a martial art class to learn the basic on self defense mode, you always want to keep leverage & postion while fighting back.

 

Always be aware & pay attention  to your surrounding area

 

If you should have to defend yourself:

1. Look for the body part where there is weakness, especially for the female who should use the elbow to counter the strongest blow to the eyes; noses; stomach; even the family jewels.

2. Yell for help! Bite the hand or arm if necessary, fall to the ground.

3. Look  around for an exit stragery

4. If you are carrying something of value, throw it away from you in the opposite direction. 

5. Using your fingers as weapons go for the eyes; use your keys to stab; scratch or leave a mark

 

Other options

 

1.  Have a tracer put on your smart phone...You can always be located in the event you are taken.

2. Use code word to alert others that you are in danger...example if you are home with a intruder and you recieve a phone call from a family member, using the code word will alert them to get help.

3. Use a reverse pin # to alert the Bank  (more information to follow -up on procedures)

 

DNC: Comment ~ Since we are getting into the Holiday Season, and most people will be walking  with their hands full.  Start asking a "Security Guard" to walk you out to your car or to keep a visiual eye on you.  Also, use the panic button on your car alarm to alarm those around you. 

Make sure you see what the attacker is wearing!
