Butterfly57 provided the group with an article with the headed showing Iran Moves Asset, Awaits Benefits As Sancations Are Lifted!

Although companies such as: Mastercard & Visa, as well as PayPal; Moneygram & Westernunion don't operate in Iran at this time.

The U.S. Treasurey says Iranian will be able to use foreign banks to send money into local Iranian banks....there are no foreign banks operating in Iran as of yet!

However, SWIFT, a Belgian -based company that handles wire transfers between financial insitiutions, said they had gotten in touch with some delisted banks to restore their service in Iran.

 

Wisconsin ~  He remembers watching a special on Iran last summer & his opinion is we may not have to wait too long due to Iran's government is much more postive & stable.  He feels we will not have to go through things we've gone through with Iraq!

 

Lady Ethel & Amazing Grace ~ commented that Elmer read an article where it mentioned Iraq & Iran met with some banks in New York and came to an agreement on an exchange rate.  Rates were not mentioned, but it was said to be very close with each other.

 

BoMonkey ~ Provided an email that was sent to all the members by Blk Pearl of which it spoke of the Tarriff Tax Law. Although it was very difficult to translate from Arabic into English, it supposedly was speaking of the Electricity will be retro active back to January 1, 2016...this was from the Minster of Finance.

 

Blk Pearl ~ provided a tibbit to the family that came from a very close friend who works for Travel-ex.  Blk Pearl was told that Travel-ex would be one of the 1st to know when the rates changes on any currency, due to Travel-ex get their information directly from the United States Treasury Dept.

 

Keeping It Real ~ What constitutes Double Dipping?  If Iran Rials were to be the 1st to revalue & we took the money to purchase other currencies in her opinion that doesn't warrent a Double Dipping!  That is consider to be a reinvestment! KIR feels that we do not have a clear understanding of the term "Double Dipping" & we need to have a true & clear understanding of it's meaning!
