Our Pledge & Mission/Vision Statement will be Recited Every 1st Tuesday of each Month!

 

**The G.E.M. ~ GROUP plan to participate on The Price Is Right in Los Angeles...taping for the show will be September 29th 2015

Names need to be sent to Blk Pearl for those who will be attending The Price Is Right no later than June 29th

Committe need to be formed for the designs of our T-shirts, which should be submitted to the group no later than 08/01/15

Introduction to our Guest Speaker

Kevin Perkins

Doing Business In Africa

 

Deekin introduced our Guest Speaker - Kevin Perkin, whom he has known since childhood....Kevin is an ex-baseball player, he is an advocate for the youth communities & an Alderman for a local city in Chicago.  He started a non-profit organization called

Chicago Heights Sister City - African Diaspora Initative Inc.  For 10 years Kevin has been involved in Doing Business In Africa.  

Kevin gave the group a brief history lesson on how President Dwight Eisenhower establish the Sister City Program 1966, so people around the world can reconnect & work together to solve some of the world's problems, involving export & import prosperities.

 

Ghana is the 7th fastest growing economy in the world.....there are great opportunities in this country for doing business. Over 10 years Kevin has built a rapport with the Current President John Dramani Mahama  & Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur of Ghana as well as members of Parliment;

Royal Families; Chiefs in the Eastern regions including most of the locals businesses.

 

2012 President Obama created & established a program Doing Business In African ~ Campaigning Initiative. In this campaign initiative he established various programs, in various department within the federal government, that plays a vital role in this campaign. This Campaign funded 33 Billion dollars to connect America's Business with opportunities in one of the fastest growing ecomony in the world, in particular Ghana and throughout the continent of Africa!

There are Trade Agreements & other programs that is part of the federal government which includes:

 

State Department

Small Business of Administration

Department of Transportation

Department of Energy

It also includes what was established by President Obama

Investment Group Funding

Venture Capital Funding

A funding mechanism program called: Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC)

2 Billions dollas has been set asided for OPIC, which will help stimulate economic investment opportunites such as export/import; trade opportunities between United States & The Continent Of Africa

 

1.   If you are granted these resourses you MUST show that your project or your business venture will enhance the quality of life for Americans as well as the partnering country you have choosen.  By simply creating jobs!

2. You also MUST be an American & own at least 51% of that corporation

***FYI*** Very few American has taken advantage of these available resources!

 

There are several types of businesses that can help to enhance Ghana such as:

Landfill due to severe garbage problems

Energy due to long Black-outs

Farmers: During the Harvest 50% of their crops are SPOILED...due to they don't have refrigeration technology, they don't have bottling or canning technology....**Please if you know someone with this type of techology or experiences introduced them to OPIC!

Keep in mind OPIC has not only allotted resources to do business in Africa....but as well as Asia & Latin America! This is a excellent program for doing business abroad!

DNC~ How many times in your lifetime have you met someone who has an ear to a President of a Country? Do this group realize how hugh this is for our family & what a great opportunity this is for The G.E.M. ~ GROUP?

RV Hunter ~ A lot of the American companies can go over there in a short amount of time & help....but they choose not to & it's profitable for them! Why......because they want it to stay that way! It's going to take people liks us to take it by the horn and make it happen!

Hope44 ~ Maybe it wasn't meant to be at that time....maybe we were the people that was meant to do this!  God will take the people that was no people and compound the Mighty!  He works in time & order, so we been blessed with this opportunity for a reason!

We need to keep seeking out what his (God) will is to be done....and the doors will be open!
