Due to personal & unresolved issues...Dark Chocolate has decide to resign from The G.E.M. ~ GROUP as of Tuesday 06/30/15.  He said he loves this group & when things have settle down he would love to return to this family!

 

* Crystal From Texas will be in Orlanda Flordia ~ Advocating For The Blind

 07/04/15 - 07/12/15 for the 75th Anniversay for the National Federation for The Blind

 

**The G.E.M. ~ GROUP plan to participate on The Price Is Right in Los Angeles...taping for the show will be September 29th 2015

Names need to be sent to Blk Pearl for those who will be attending The Price Is Right no later than June 29th

Committe need to be formed for the designs of our T-shirts, which should be submitted to the group no later than 08/01/15

Open Room

 

Deekin introduce the family to his friend Lone Stranger...Deekin meet him on OM appox 6 months ago. 

Lone Stranger said he use the name as a play on the name Lone Ranger, however he does a lot of filming on wild on animals, he is a video photographer.

 

Lil Maximall would like to bring attention to using Robert's Rules of Order....after the minutes has been read, the correct way to accept or approve the minutes..."I MOVE that we accept the minutes as read", then someone would follow with a 2nd!

**Special Note** The Robert's Rules of Order has been available on our website since July 2014...

however in December 2014 it was moved to our Chat & Discussion Board!

 

Recognition of The G.E.M. ~ GROUP 1 year Anniversary!

 

July 12th would be our group's 1 year anniversary....Orginial Members that started during the month of July 2014 shared on what The G.E.M. ~ GROUP has meant to them personally.  Most gave thanks & gratitude to members of the family as well as the leaders of the group! A dedication to The G.E.M. ~ GROUP which was written by Fabulous Girl, July 15th 2014 was read to the members.

A few hightlighted comments:

The Author: This has been a truly inspiring ride...it's like it been put together like a web from a spider.....It started out very thin....but at the same time strong!  We may have loss our dear Tessie along the way....But we have hung in there, and we have GROWN...and welcome the new members to the family...I see us growing even further!

Keeping It Real: Although there have been disagreements between us...we are just like a family & there will always be an

"United Front"....KIR read the most wonderful & beautiful poem from Dr. Maya Angelou titled: 

The Human Family (Poem is now part of our Home Page during the opening song)

Keeping It Real stated I LOVE this family & look forward to the next chapter with our newest members as the

next generation of this family!

 

Invited Guest & The G.E.M. ~ GROUP Policies

 

Crystal From Texas: "The G.E.M. ~ GROUP is NOT just another social group club....this is our family!"  "Everytime I come into this room  I feel as thou I am fellowshipping with my family! And just like we take care of our home....We need to do the same in this house of ours" (referring to our conference room)  We need to respect one another....Be mindful of one another!

Crystal From TX stated she truly enjoyed the educational lesson given from Dizzy Bear.....however; at one point she felt offended by his moderator! (Blondie) Crystal feels as we move further and we invite anyone into our room...we need to have a rule to enforced to keep & use our own moderators!

 

Several members shared their opinion and voiced the same concerns as Crystal From Texas!

 

Grateful asked these questions?:

1. Was Dizzy Bear ask to come to our room to speak as a Guest?

2. Was it stated beforehand that Dizzy Bear would be using his own moderator for the Q&A?

Keeping It Real answered Grateful's questions (yes to both questions) & advised the entire group....that the group leaders get together & ask some fact finding questions (when possible) to make sure this will be benefical for the group as well as a safe environment.

But in this particular case, due to the overwhelming response from The GEM family to have Dizzy Bear on our call, it was more important to some of the leaders to have Dizzy Bear speak to our members, than the concerned of his moderator!

 

1Maximall made a suggestion that a committe be formed for any guest or presenter that is requested by a member,  to be screened by this committee, to ensure that each guest be given our protocol & guidanace of rules.
