Going The Extra Mile

- Quote of the Week

“Just think,

You're here not by chance,

But by God's choosing

His hand formed you

and made you

the person you are!

He compares you to no one else-

you are one of a kind

You lack nothing

that His grace can't give you!

He has allowed you to be here

at this time in history

to fulfill His special purpose

for this generation!

Country: Gabon
Located on the West Coast of Africa
The currency is called Central African CFA franc
The country gained it's independence in 1960 from France
Captial is Libreville
The population is 1.5 million
80% speaks French
The country is  have a President (Head of State) & Prime Minister (Head of government)
The economy is based on oil, before the discovery of oil it's economy was logging!
Gabon is a safe place to travel, they dressing & clothing  is influence by the Western Country

The low population denstiy , & abundace of oil and poreign private investment have helped make Gabon one of the moset prosperous countries in Sub-Sahara Africa, with the 4th highest HD (Human Developement) & 3rd highest GDP in the region.

However, it is reported that Gabon borrowed a lot of money from the CBI ~
Gabon earned a poor reputation with the Paris Club and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over the management of its debt and revenues. Successive IMF missions have criticized the government for overspending on off-budget items (in good years and bad), over-borrowing from the Central Bank, and slipping on the schedule for privatization and administrative reform. However, in September 2005, Gabon successfully concluded a 15-month Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF. Another 3-year Stand-By Arrangement with the IMF was approved in May 2007. Because of the financial crisis and social developments surrounding the death of President Omar Bongo and the elections, Gabon was unable to meet its economic goals under the Stand-By Arrangement in 2009. Negotiations with the IMF still are ongoing.

3rd Presentation ~ DNC

Country: Mozambique
Capital: Maputo
Currencey: Mozambican metical
Populations: 23,900 Million

Mozambique is a multi-party democracy under the 1990 constitution. The executive branch comprises a president, prime minister, and Council of Ministers. There is a National Assembly and municipal assemblies.
Mozambique's economy has been shaken by a number of corruption scandals. In July 2011, the government proposed new anti-corruption laws to criminalise embezzlement, influence peddling and graft, following numerous instances of theft of public money. This has been endorsed by the country's Council of Ministers. Mozambique has convicted two former ministers for graft in the past two years.

Mozambique is endowed with rich and extensive natural resources. The country's economy is based largely on agriculture, but industry, mainly food and beverages, chemical manufacturing, aluminium and petroleum production, is growing.
The country's tourism sector is also growing. South Africa is Mozambique's main trading partner and source of foreign direct investment. Portugal, Brazil, Spain and Belgium are also among the country's most important economic partners. Since 2001, Mozambique's annual average GDP growth has been among the world's highest. However, the country ranks among the lowest in GDP per capita, human development, measures of inequality, and average life expectancy.

In 2012, large natural gas reserves were discovered in Mozambique, revenues from which might dramatically change the economy

Final Comment:
Grateful~ As we look into investing into these countries, we should also look into giving back, such as:
Orphanage
Food
Education
Every country in Africa has their own challenges, let's put our knowledge & experiences to work!
